Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded Inspire Movements?

In the heart of Colorado Springs, where the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains meets a vibrant community, a unique haven for wellness and relaxation has emerged—Inspire Movements Massage, founded by the passionate and skilled massage therapist, Jessica Deardorff. If you’re seeking a rejuvenating experience that goes beyond the ordinary, look no further. Jessica’s approach to massage therapy is not just about physical relaxation; it’s about inspiring movement, healing, and a deeper connection between mind and body.

The Vision Behind Inspire Movements Massage

Jessica Deardorff has always had a profound appreciation for the healing power of touch. With years of experience in the field of massage therapy, she recognized a gap in the industry—an opportunity to create a space where clients could not only unwind but also learn to listen to their bodies and foster a sense of empowerment through movement. Thus, Inspire Movements Massage was born.

Jessica’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that every person is unique, and so should be their path to healing. Her tailored approach considers individual needs, whether it’s relieving chronic pain, reducing stress, or enhancing athletic performance. By combining various techniques and modalities, she aims to inspire her clients to move freely and confidently in their bodies.

Many of our regulars find the best results from booking their massage every 2 weeks apart. Consistent therapeutic care (exercising, stretching, adjustments, etc.) with ashiatsu massage and cupping therapy helps restore function, reduce inflammation, and keep pain from returning as frequently.

Yes, especially here at Inspire Movements Massage Therapy where we focus on low back pain relief. Ashiatsu is highly effective for sciatica when combined with other modalities as well. By using deep, broad pressure, it eases the tension along the spine, lower back and hips, helping calm sciatic nerve irritation.

Absolutely, this is something else we specialize in here at Inspire Movements Massage Therapy. Therapeutic massage techniques can release tight muscles in the neck, on the face, shoulders, and upper back, which are common migraine and headache triggers. Each migraine sufferer notices different flare-ups, our goal is to customize each massage to you, for you to find the pain relief you are searching for. Many clients notice relief after one session, but given Colorado weather flares, and inflammation and muscle memory patterns, consistent massages are important to keep you ahead of the pain.

Ashiatsu massage is a therapeutic technique where the massage therapist uses their feet to apply the pressure and techniques while holding onto overhead bars and a strap to deliver deep, consistent pressure. This method of massage care reaches multiple layers of muscle at once, creating a broader and more consistent release that feels easier to bear than the sharp, pinpoint pressure of a standard deep tissue massage.

Traditional massage relies on the therapist’s hands, fingers, and elbows, which can sometimes feel more like a “poking” sensation or concentrated efforts. It may be more difficult to endure depending on the person for both types of massages, but this is why communication is crucial.

While on the other hand, ashiatsu massage can provide an easier, smoother, more tolerable, widespread approach to care. This type of massage is ideal for long-lasting pain relief, low back tension, and sciatica, without the discomfort of enduring through the intense troublesome spots.

Yes, in most cases. We can provide invoices for HSA or FSA reimbursement, but you do need a Letter of Medical Necessity in order to use this in most cases. It’s always best to confirm with your provider what is needed on your end before booking.

Appointments are required, but please check the schedule online! Somedays, we have appointments open, others, we do not. Most of our consistent regulars schedule their massages online 2 weeks in advance to reserve their ideal day and time.

Your therapeutic ashiatsu massage sessions at Inspire Movements Massage Therapy will always include a full consultation before and afterwards to help us customize the treatment plan to you and for you at each appointment. We also include everything in our sessions, from essential oils to hot towels, all therapeutic techniques like ashiatsu and cupping, always included in our rates. No upsells ever, no add-ons under any circumstances, just results to keep you rolling forward.

Yes. Cupping therapy is safe when performed by a trained therapist, just make sure you find one that has actually become certified! Cupping helps to bring the tension closer to the surface levels while increasing circulation, reduces muscle tension, and speeds your recovery from chronic pain.

At Inspire Movements Massage Therapy, we offer 90-minute and 2-hour massage sessions. This allows enough time to allocate enough time for a full-body therapeutic approach toward low back pain, migraines, and headaches while focusing on each problem area and allowing enough time for a full body treatment.

We’re located at 1295 Kelly Johnson Blvd, Suite 250, Colorado Springs, CO 80920. We’re off of Academy and Kelly Johnson Blvd, near Briargate Parkway and I-25. We’re close to the United States Air Force Academy and the Chapel Hills Mall.

What is the best schedule for long-term low back pain relief?

Regular consistent massage therapy care every two weeks helps prevent regression by keeping muscular and fascial tension from rebuilding. People committing to a biweekly scheduled massages notice more consistent function, fewer flare-ups, and steadier movement patterns than those who book sporadically or with a pain flare up.

Can therapeutic massage help low back pain even without a diagnosis?

Absolutely! While each injury is different, treating the soft tissues, fascia, and structural patterns often reduces recurring pain patterns and improves movement even before a formal diagnosis occurs. However, deeper functional issues like instability or pelvic dysfunction may benefit from combined care with a licensed specialist.

Are certain jobs more likely to cause lower back pain?

Indeed. For instance, desk jobs, long driving shifts, heavy equipment operators or heavy equipment moving, and jobs requiring prolonged static posture contribute to low back discomfort. Consistent therapeutic care combined with ergonomic strategies and movement habits reduces tension and improves long-term outcomes.

What results would I expect when receiving bi-weekly therapeutic massage?

Many of our consistent regulars feel noticeable improvement after just one session, but structural progress and reduced flare-ups tend to stabilize around 4–8 consistent appointments. The goal is sustainable function rather than temporary relief. Every massage is always customized to you, for you, every appointment.

How does cupping therapy enhance low back pain treatment?

Cupping lifts fascial restrictions and increases circulation, making your therapeutic massage sessions more thorough by targeting deeper connective tissue tension and supporting smoother tissue mobility. It brings the tension closer to the surface level making the massage overall easier to get more done in the same amount of time.

How does ashiatsu massage enhance low back pain treatment?

Ashiatsu massage and cupping therapy are two sides of a coin where when combined, they help to get more done in the same amount of time. Ashiatsu massage is a more intentional approach to deep tissue massage. Since we are stepping down into tissues as opposed to pushing in, we’re able to accomplish more in less time that a standard deep tissue massage.

Can sitting all day worsen low back pain?

Prolonged sitting increases lumbar compression and weakens core muscle activation over time. By doing this consistently with your desk job, the strain placed on your spinal tissues and encouraging chronic tension patterns that resist self-management. Movement breaks and targeted bodywork help interrupt this cycle. Call to ask questions if you have any.
