What Happens During a 2-Hour Therapeutic Massage in Colorado Springs?

If you’re comparing massage therapy prices in Colorado Springs, there’s something worth looking at beyond the number on the booking page: What are you actually receiving for that price?

At Inspire Movements Massage Therapy in Briargate, my approach is straightforward. Your therapeutic massage will always include ashiatsu, cupping therapy, and the techniques I use to personalize your session every massage through Inspire Movements Massage Therapy. There are no massage add-on charges, and I don’t accept tips. My goal is to make it the easiest to choose care based on what your body needs, rather than having to calculate additional services before you even get on the table. This is how the best care practice is determined from my perspective.

How Much Does Therapeutic Massage Cost at Inspire Movements?

Inspire Movements offers two therapeutic massage appointment lengths:

Both sessions follow the same all-inclusive approach every massage.

You’re not paying separately for cupping therapy, essential oils, hot towels, or the other massage modalities incorporated into your massage. The appointment is built around your concerns, rather than a menu of upgrades. For instance, someone visiting for recurring low back pain may also have tension throughout their hips, glutes, and upper back. Those areas often need to be considered together when deciding how to use the session. The length of your appointment determines how much time we have available, not which standard massage techniques you’re allowed to receive.

If you’re unsure which duration is appropriate, I’ve also written about choosing between a 90-minute and 2-hour massage.

What’s Included in an All-Inclusive Massage in Colorado Springs?

An all-inclusive massage at Inspire Movements Massage Therapy combines several therapeutic approaches without charging separately for each technique.

ashiatsu Massage

Ashiatsu is a barefoot massage technique that uses broad, controlled pressure delivered through the therapist’s feet.

I use overhead bars and a strap to maintain balance and control the pressure throughout the session.

For those who prefer substantial pressure but dislike the sharper sensation of elbows or fingertips, ashiatsu can offer a different experience. I personally prefer the deep tissue without the pinpoint pressure of boney prominence of the upper extremities.

It’s particularly useful when working across larger muscular areas such as the back, hips, and legs.

If you’re unfamiliar with the technique, you can read more about ashiatsu massage therapy in Colorado Springs.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping! Definitely one of my favorite additions to any massage. Cupping therapy uses suction to lift the skin and underlying superficial tissue rather than pressing downward. Think of it like the waves of a beach. It cannot solely go one direction, it has to push and pull the water. It is the same concept with tension stored in your tissues.

I incorporate cupping alongside ashiatsu because the techniques offer different types of mechanical stimulation. Depending on your goals and comfort, cupping may be used around areas of muscular tension, including the back, shoulders, and hips.

Some people notice temporary circular marks afterward, and the intensity of suction can be adjusted. We always close out with oils and mixtures to help reduce the bruising. The marks aren’t an indicator to cause pain directly, it tends to feel weird initially but you forget about it after a bit.

Stretching, Movement and Additional Therapeutic Techniques

Your session may also incorporate guided stretching, more often than not include movement-based techniques, along with hot towels, and essential oils when appropriate.

These aren’t separate upgrades fees, they will always be included.

I choose techniques based on your health history, comfort, movement limitations, and the areas we agree to prioritize.

For some, that means spending more time on the low back and hips. For others, it may involve addressing neck and shoulder along with your skull tension or exploring how everyday movement patterns contribute to discomfort.

Every session starts with a conversation because what worked during your previous appointment may not be what you need today. This is why pre and post consultations are always included here.

Why Doesn’t Inspire Movements Accept Tips?

Because I want the price of your appointment to reflect the price you actually pay. I don’t find it ethical on my part to ask for more than what was included.

When someone books therapeutic massage for ongoing muscular discomfort, I don’t want them wondering whether they should budget for an additional 15% or 20% afterwards. They should see what they will pay!

The rates are designed to account for the professional care and time provided in each appointment.

That means you can focus on your appointment rather than deciding how much to leave at checkout. What you see is what you’ll pay:)

If you’d like to support my small business beyond booking, leaving an honest Google review, referring someone who could benefit from therapeutic care, or sharing your experience with a friend means a great deal! I am so appreciative of that!

And there’s never an expectation to do any of those things.

Who Is Therapeutic Massage at Inspire Movements Best For?

My practice is designed for people who want more than an occasional massage when their discomfort becomes unbearable. It makes it more difficult for both of us to be reaching the pain relief levels if we’re more sporadic with scheduling.

Many individuals come in because they experience recurring concerns such as:

These concerns don’t all have the same cause, and massage isn’t a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. However, therapeutic massage may be one useful part of a broader plan for managing muscular discomfort and supporting your movement patterns.

According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health’s massage therapy guidance, research suggests massage may offer short-term benefits for some pain conditions, although evidence varies and long-term results aren’t guaranteed.

I work with people who value communication, appropriate pressure, and a consistent approach to their care.

That includes busy professionals, healthcare workers, active adults, and people who are tired of repeatedly putting their own needs at the bottom of the calendar.

Why Does Consistency Matter More Than Waiting for Another Pain Flare-Up?

One pattern I regularly see is someone waiting until their discomfort becomes difficult to tolerate before scheduling another appointment.

By that point, the body may already be responding with increased muscle tension, altered movement, or protective guarding. Making it more difficult to get into the tissues to get the release patterns working most effectively.

When someone has been uncomfortable for weeks or months at a time, expecting one session to resolve everything isn’t always realistic.

Consistency gives us an opportunity to monitor changes, adjust our approach, and work toward realistic goals over time.

That doesn’t mean everyone needs the same appointment frequency or that more massage always produces better results.

For many of my regulars, every 2-weeks is a practical schedule. Others find that monthly appointments fit their needs.

We consider how you’re responding, what activities affect your symptoms, and whether other healthcare providers should be involved.

I also encourage clients to take an active role between appointments through appropriate movement, stretching, and self-care recommendations.

The goal isn’t to make you dependent on massage. It’s to help you understand your body and make informed decisions about your care.
